Since 2000, SPERI has conducted case studies in 11 villages of the Tai Dam ethnic group in Hanh Dich commune and neighboring locations in Que Phong district. The primary concerns of case studies relate to the community right to forest and land, customary law in natural resources management, medicinal knowledge in community health care, handicraft textile and ecologicial farming, security of livelihoods and cultural bio-diversity preservation, traditional civil society promotion, key farmer's networking in community development and ethnic minority youth empowerment.

The above case studies are supported by PARTNER-Canada, ICCO - the Netherlands, NPA - Norway, CCFD-France and Brot/BMZ-Germany.
