Since late 1999, SPERi has implemented case studies in community of the Lao Lum ethnic group in Xiangda village, Nam Bak district.

The primary concern of case studies relate to cultural identity preservation, community governance via promotion of community based organizations, preservation of herbal medicine wisdom and plants for community health care and cultural bio-diversity, local knowledge for sustainable agriculture, and traditional handicraft textile production for micro community enterprises.

The above case studies are supported by ICCO - the Netherlands.
