To develop a good lobby approach, knowledge about the issue is most important. Therefore SPERI started with doing research about both customary law and the legal framework in Vietnam with regard to land rights. SPERI facilitated stakeholders, like the Sinh Mun people (ethnic minority), Kinh-people (majority) and the authorities to come together and to discuss about fair land allocation.
Fair land allocation includes women's right to land. After an extensive negotiation process, the land was allocated to the Sinh Mun people, both men and women. For more information, please read the case study in this website.
